Privacy policy
Held with care.
We collect very little, we never sell it, and this page tells you plainly what happens to every word you share with us.
Effective September 1, 2026
The short version
We only learn about you when you choose to tell us: a note through the contact form, or a donation. We use that information to write back, process your gift, and send your receipt. We set no cookies of our own, run no ad trackers, and never sell or rent anyone’s information. The rest of this page is the detail.
What we collect, and where it goes
When you write to us
The contact form asks for your name, your email, the role you’re reaching out as, and your message. Submissions are carried to our inbox by Web3Forms, which holds each one briefly for delivery and spam filtering, then deletes it on a schedule. From there your note lives in our email, hosted by Google Workspace, and is read by a real person. We use it to reply to you, and for nothing else. Emailing us directly works the same way.
When you give
Donations run through Zeffy, a payment platform built for nonprofits. Everything you type into the donation form, including your card or bank details, goes to Zeffy and its payment processor, not to us. We never see or store your payment numbers. Zeffy shares with us what a receipt needs: your name, your email, and your gift amount. We keep those records to thank you and to meet the record-keeping rules that come with being a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
When you simply visit
Reading this site asks nothing of you. We run no analytics scripts and no advertising trackers. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps routine server logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, to keep the site secure and running.
Cookies
We don’t set any. The donation form on our donate page is served by Zeffy inside its own frame, and Zeffy may set functional cookies of its own so checkout works; those are governed by Zeffy’s privacy policy, linked above.
Who we share it with
The services named above, and no one else. Each holds information only to do its job for us. We never sell, rent, or trade anyone’s information, and we would disclose it only if the law genuinely required us to.
Children’s privacy
Our work is for children; our website is not. It is written for the adults around them: caregivers, caseworkers, and donors. The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us theirs, tell us and we will delete it.
Your choices
Ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We’ll honor every request we can; the one limit is donation records that nonprofit and tax rules require us to keep. And if we ever send updates by email, every one will include a simple way to say no thanks.
How long we keep things
Messages stay as long as we need them to help you, and no longer. Donation records stay as long as the law asks of a 501(c)(3), which is typically several years.
How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and we work only with established providers who publish their own security practices. No method of storing or sending information is perfect, but we choose our tools with care.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. We don’t track visitors in the first place, so the site behaves the same with or without it.
When this policy changes
If what we collect or how we use it ever changes, we’ll update this page and move the effective date at the top. A meaningful change will be said plainly, not buried.
